About Me

Learn about my journey from Speech-Language Pathology to Learning Design.

From Speech-Language Pathologist to Learning Designer, I love connecting with people and creatively solving problems.

When deciding to become a speech-language pathologist about 10 years ago, I was excited to enter a profession that gave me the opportunity to build relationships with others while making a positive impact on their lives. I wanted to help people find their voices and tell their stories. While working with individual students in public schools has been incredibly rewarding, I want my work to have a wider reach.

I began exploring learning design while taking coursework at NYU as part of the Learning Technology and Experience Design MA program. I immediately took to this work due to the overlap that exists between the skillset of a speech-language pathologist and a learning designer. Both roles rely on understanding others through observation and data, identifying challenges, and creating solutions to problems. The years I have spent refining these skills through my work as a speech-language pathologist have uniquely prepared me to take on the role of a designer. I approach each project with empathy, creativity, and a willingness to listen.
